What these cover
These terms apply to the Meldo apps for iOS and Android and to this website. The provider is Yavuz Selim Kolbasar (contact@meldo.dev). If you install or use Meldo, these terms apply.
For the iOS app from the App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement applies as well. The provider, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its support.
Free, no account
Meldo is free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no ads. You don’t need a Meldo account.
Open source
Meldo’s source code is under the MIT License. You may use, change and share it under its terms. The name Meldo and the logo are not part of the license: don’t publish your own version as “Meldo”.
What Meldo is
Meldo helps you plan your school day and count how often you raise your hand. Your count is not a grade. Your teacher gives the grades. Meldo is not an official app of your school. Timetables, substitutions, exams and grades can differ from what your school says. What your school says always counts.
Your data
Your entries are stored on your device. If you delete the app or lose the device, they are gone, unless you turned on sync with Google Drive. For important data, keep your own backup. What Meldo does with data is in the privacy policy.
Teams and Google Drive
These connections are optional. Only connect your own accounts. The services’ own terms and your school’s rules apply. For Teams, your school’s IT may have to approve Meldo first. Meldo needs these services and their interfaces, but can’t guarantee that they stay available and don’t change. WebUntis import: waiting for approval from Untis.
Fair use
Don’t use Meldo to access other people’s accounts or data, and don’t try to disrupt your school’s servers or other services through Meldo.
Liability
Meldo is provided free of charge and as it is. The provider is therefore only liable for intent and gross negligence, and for defects the provider fraudulently concealed.
This does not apply to injury to life, body or health or to liability under the German Product Liability Act. The statutory rules apply to those.
Changes and ending
Meldo can change, and the provider may discontinue the apps or individual features. If these terms change, the new date is shown at the top of this page. You can stop using Meldo at any time by deleting the app.
Governing law
German law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in. The provider does not take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board.
